about
Pablo Picasso once said, "Learn the rules like a pro so that you can break them like an artist." This captures my approach to counselor education—building rock-solid foundations while encouraging students to develop their unique professional voice and thoughtfully challenge the status quo.

After eight years as a clinician, supervisor, and program manager, I've learned that transformative teaching happens when theory meets real-world application. My approach centers on authenticity, growth, and meaningful change.

My Teaching Philosophy I treat my classroom like my therapy office—a safe space where vulnerability leads to growth. Drawing from person-centered principles, I create environments built on empathy, respect, and genuine positive regard. My diverse clinical background spanning private practice, community mental health, and residential treatment has taught me that effective education must be culturally responsive and socially conscious.

How I Teach My toolkit includes experiential learning through role-plays, reflective practices, collaborative projects, and case-based learning that bridges theory and practice. I integrate technology creatively while maintaining authentic relational connections. Assessment goes beyond grades—I use ongoing feedback, performance demonstrations, and portfolios that document growth over time.

Currently pursuing my PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision, I bring both scholarly rigor and practical wisdom to every teaching experience.
